Blog Assignment 1

When i first began to think about technology used in Education my mind first wondered to teachers that use power point, since that was pretty much the technology teachers used in the classroom with me. After our first class session and reading other educational blogs, my thoughts of technology have expanded beyond power point presentation. Technology should be used a a crutch to teachers explain and teach.
In Sunday's Ed Tech Forum, one form of technology that was especially interesting to me was in a school on New Zealand, kids at a young age are giving video cameras to record experiences in the classroom. I think this is a wonderful idea that gives young children a great opportunity to use technology and have responsibility. This would fit in well if classrooms, k-12 receive wireless routers like the October 18th post in this Tech Blog suggest. If classrooms can have wireless internet and teachers can use digital recorders and instantly see those videos online is a great learning tool and great use of technology.
